Senators' Ruutu suspended two games

Sports Network | November 12, 2008

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Ottawa Senators forward Jarkko Ruutu has been suspended for two games without pay for an elbowing incident in the club's game Tuesday against Montreal.

Ruutu was assessed a charging minor against the Canadiens' Maxim Lapierre at the 2:05 mark of the third period. Ruutu will forfeit $13,978.50, and miss Ottawa's upcoming home-and-home series with the New York Islanders.

Ruutu, who has two goals and three assists this season, will be eligible to return November 17, when Ottawa plays in New York against the Rangers.
